“The history of Ridge goes back to the 1960s, and the philosophy was that it's the place that really is the most important in terms of the quality of the wine. And what does the place mean? The place means, of course, the environment. And today, we're 100% certified organic. There's a lot of benefits that you don't really see, for example, in organic farming until you do it. We were really concerned that without the herbicides, for example, that we'd see really a negative quality in terms of the fruit that we harvest in the wines. But in fact, it's been just the opposite. If anything, we've just seen an increase in the quality of the fruit we harvest.”
